Hello all, I've admittedly done only a hours worth of searching but I don't have enough time to pull an all-nighter trying to piece together how to get everything set up. Could someone tell me a simple step-by-step way to get things working so I can play Mario Kart wii against my friend on dolphin? The few things I've tried result in 20100, no internet connection. I'm sorry for the laziness on my part and thank you for your time.
How to play on wifi/online nowadays?

Nintendo shutdown their online servers, which is why you're getting that issue. You'll also want to get the latest dev build for the best speed and accuracy: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/
What you can do is create a custom version of Mario Kart Wii called CTGP Revolution. It uses native Wii multiplayer so you don't have to mess with Dolphin's netplay if you don't want to. Find info here as to how: http://www.mariokartwii.com/threads/8801...-converter If you do want to try out Dolphin's netplay, its a way to basically play the local multiplayer version across multiple systems, and is useful for playing games that don't necessarily have an online multiplayer to begin with.
Some games launched after the shutdown still works fine, without patching (like Just Dance 2014/2015)...
Furthermore, you're getting error 20100, that means you didn't set up Dolphin correctly. Have you dumped the certificates?
