@Squall: Yeah, I noticed that too, but I like to be more thorough in my testing; e.g. actual gameplay. I prefer getting relevant results; I've seen that intro animation so much I'm kinda sick of it, so I nearly always skip it. I've never gotten fully perfect audio on the ToS intro though.
The intro with SoA drops to 17 FPS (the scene with the queen and all the captains) and gets low in other parts with VBeam, buts runs full speed without VBeam. Since the results switch (VBeam gives fullspeed, turning it off, not so much) during actual gameplay, I'm not too keen on taking any game's intro sequence as a quick one-off test for performance.
@rpglord: I can't seem to lower the performance on SoA with IR and MSAA. Seems like I can max these with my GPU. Can't use SSAA on my setup, which I'm sure would force the video thread to slow down. SoA isn't particularly GPU demanding, so I've heard. Ah well.
