I'm on the latest dolphin now, and I'm getting around 40 fps on SSBM

Athlon II P340 Dual Core 2.2 GHZ
3GB RAM
AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250
Windows 7 Home Premium

I haven't changed anything from installing. What can I do to increase FPS?

The best thing you can do is get a high-end desktop PC with an i5 or i7 processor. Other than that, overclock what you have as much as you can without it blowing up and hope for the best. Laptops are not well suited for Dolphin, especially really old ones like yours.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1)
RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333

My laptop was released at the end of last year, so it's not old.
I have an i7 desktop, but I travel a lot and I would like to play on my laptop.

That's not going to work out well with an Athlon II. It will work, but you'll have to deal with whatever slowness you get.

It was not released at the end of 2010. You might have bought it off the shelf then.

You will be able to of course but you have to resign to get "small" performance btw 40fps isn't that bad however some games will be unplayable... actually it will depend which games you will play Smile

FYI, It was released then. I bought it a few weeks ago.
HP G42-415DX

I was thinking that there was something I could do within the program to increase FPS, guess I was wrong?

Then it's absolutely awful for 2010 and I don't think you'll get much gameplay out of that laptop at all.

Dude, you have like the same specs as me but my dolphin runs at like 10-20 FPS and 30% speed, how do you run yours at 40 FPS? Can you help me or tell me your settings?
