For now, you can still do that. Next month the Wii Shop will be gone so that won't work.

What version of Dolphin are you using? Where is the NAND located? Is it in the default location? Are you using a portable build? We'll continue debugging this.

I'm using version 5.0-9240.
The NAND, I assume, is located at C:\Users\lmill\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Wii As far as I know, this is the default location. I'm not using a portable build but that would be nice to have all of those folders that get created in documents to simply be created inside of the folder where the .exe is located. Do I have to download a specific "portable" build for this or can I do this through configuration somehow? As for the NAND, I assume that this is included with Dolphin? I haven't downloaded a NAND or anything like that. All I have that wasn't included with Dolphin is the game file and the DLC file. Here's the process I'm using
Mega Man 9 isn't actually installed to your NAND! Restart the process, right click Mega Man 9 in the gamelist, Install to NAND. This will permanently install it to your NAND instead of temporarily installing it as SD data. Confirm it's installed by running it again and seeing if it actually boots the game without that message. Once you've done that, install the DLC and it should work!

Apparently, still no dice
Just before I started recording I deleted the Wii folder so that I'd start with a fresh NAND
You didn't have a savefile created (which, is necessary as you can only buy the DLC after you've created one,) but, I can't guarantee that'll actually fix this. I'll continue to mess with it on my end.
Can you please check your Save data on the Wii System Menu. If the DLC is installed correctly, you'll see Protoman on a file, and Mega Man on another file. 01-01-2019, 06:19 PM
Ok - Let me create one and try again.
As far as installing to the NAND - does it not do that by default the first time I run the game? Because that's the only time I see that message, regardless of if I right-click and do "install to NAND" or if I just double-click the game and run it for the first time. Subsequent launches of the game don't show that message even if I don't use "install to NAND" (for the game itself, not talking about the DLC)
I just tried with these steps. Unfortunately it doesn't really lead us to anything...
Make Sure MM9 and MM9 DLC are not installed. Run (as in double click in gamelist for temp-install) and create a savefile. Check and make sure DLC is ????s (they were) Install DLC WAD Run MM9 again and confirm DLC is installed (it was.) This was 5.0-9270, but, there shouldn't be any difference between that and the version you're using. After that I go into the savedata section of the Wii System Menu and both savedata for the game and DLC are there. |
