Hi, I am new to dolphin.
I have E6300 (I think 1.8G, 2G RAM, bus@1066MHz), G41 chipset with Intel GMAx4500,

I know this is quite the bare minimum, also I know that Dolphin does not like Intel GPU...but other than Dolphin this is fine for me...

I now run FIFA10 at some 30% speed - therefore unplayable

Questions to you gurus:
1) If I get a Radeon HD5570 (or any decent GPU), will I get a good fps increase? or just improved video compatibiity?
2) If I get a say 3GHz CPU (still with 775 socket)..?
3) Cheapest HW upgrade route to play FIFA10 at 100%?

Thanks

Your CPU is too weak for this game.

A better GPU won't improve your speed.

Depends on which CPU.

Find a 3570k/3770k/2500k/2600k at a good price and you'll get full-speed in this game and in most games (if overclocked Tongue )

Yeah, a new CPU will get bottlenecked, OP needs a whole new setup.

It will . Intel GMA 4500 is garbage , it bottleneck CPU even at 0.375x IR
I lose 1/2 Speed when I use GMA 4500 instead of Nvidia 9800 GT . Huge difference man !
Radeon 5570 is ok for 2.5x IR but why did you choose 5000 series ? Do you realize those GPU are too old (3 years old) and ain't produced anymore ? I bet 5570 will die soon after you buy it ( Heck , AMD is about to release their new 8000 series)
Do me a favor and grab either Nvidia GT 630 / 640 / EVGA GTX 650 or HIS 6670 / 7750

Thanks guys for the MULTIPLE quick replies!!
I am glad ;-) to see that there are different opinions about GPU impact on fps; I'll try to get a card from a friend and just try. I find encouraging the sentence "I lose 1/2 Speed when I use GMA 4500 instead of Nvidia 9800 GT"; any other evodence of this maybe a full review or comparison using low-end CPU?

Cumulative answer:
1) My budget is - simply - less than the cost of a Wii console ;-) (maybe 100 USD?)
2) Being honest, I don't know what a "3570k/3770k/2500k/2600k" is??
3) I have 'selected' 5570 because it is on sale 50% off AND it is enough low-power to work with my old 400W PSU

Simply the best processors to run Dolphin. 3570k being the best one

I think you should get the PC version , it's much better . Otherwise , you might overclock your current CPU to 3.6GHz or higher (or upgrade a whole system to i5 3570k + Asrock Z77 Extreme 3) + buy a decent GPU + new PSU (prefer Antec 550W 80 plus)

I am not much into gaming, a new system would cost 200+ bucks...just for dolphin. Tnx anyway
PC version is a good option, but will I be able to use my Wiimote? I think the Wiimote is the best invention after the PC, and I have a few spare Tongue

Maybe the best for me is to get a 2nd hand real Wii, after all.
