You can't . MAC and Linux use OpenGL backend
Only windows can use directx backend Laptop: Youtube Channel (Vintage Tech/Watches) ::

You could use wine, which implements Direct3D9. There's not much point in that, tough, as wine will map the Direct3D calls back to equivalent OpenGL calls, so unless you suffer from a grave bug in the dolphin OpenGL plugin which isn't in the Direct3D one, don't use it.
If you want to try it neverthereless, install wine and install the Windows version of dolphin with it. Expect it to be ~20% slower, tough (in this case). (03-15-2012, 07:51 PM)dannzen Wrote: ... I also doubt Wine is able to run 64 bit builds of Dolphin, yet. It is not necessarily any slower than running an application on windows natively. 03-16-2012, 05:20 PM
Sometimes it's actually faster. In the case of Dolphin there is slowdown, about 3-20%, so it's better to run native version unless you want to test something or it's known that there's no bugs in some game with d3d9 (like Kirby shadow bug with OpenGL/D3D11)

Well I'm back using Windows 7 Ultimate again so I think I'll stick with Windows and Windows and Ubuntu is a lot better than mac
