So I recently downloaded the dolphin emulator so I could play Tales of Symphonia, but when I played there were weird beeping noises and whatnot, so I checked the internet for a solution. I ended up look at the DSP tutorial about how to change your emulator, but when I did, it wouldnt allow me to use save slots and would crash whenever i tried to use them. Any solutions?
How to fix the audio

If you are using Dolphin 3.5, you might want to download the latest development version here.
The latest builds have the new-ax-hle fixes applied to them, so you'll be able to play the game with (nearly) perfect audio with HLE. These builds also include a reverse engineered DSP LLE ROM which allows you to use DSP LLE without dumping your own. 08-03-2013, 10:44 AM
By "save slots" I assume you mean save states? You can't take a save state that was made under DSP HLE and load it under LLE, or vice-versa; all you'll get is a crash or an error message depending on what version of Dolphin you're using.

What pauldacheez said.
But you can: 1- load a save state with HLE 2- make an in-game save 3- close your game 4- switch to LLE 5- load your in-game save 6- make a new save state when you want

I also have another question for a new problem that I recently encountered. The audio for the opening scene in the game is fine, but whenever I get into the actual game, all the audio seems to just be completely gone.

You'll have to use latest builds to fix this and not 3.5 stable version. Use the link Garteal posted

Then you're doing something wrong because the sound works just fine with latest builds.
What issue do you get exactly? Stutterings? Music cuts? No sound at all? Have you tried with LLE?
