How to fix Black Screen Glitch?

Specs, from what I understand I'm supposed to put:

Dell Latitude D630, designed for Windows XP, but running Vista, 32 Bit
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
Intel 965 Express Chipset family runs my video stuff. Or at least that's what it looks like.

From that alone, should I just quit while I'm ahead? If not, read on:


Downloaded the newest version,
  • had to go disable Data Execution Prevention to run it.
  • Set up controller, audio, and video to what I wanted with no problems,
  • opened ROM, got the Black Screen.
What do?
