How to enable Dolphin to use 2 cores?

Thanks for the reply. The manufacturer, Clevo has restricted BIOS access. So, overclocking via Turbo Boost by toying with the voltage settings is my only option. If I do a Stress or Benchmark test with an overclocked profile it uses all 4 cores.

See if they (Clevo) have some way to get access to the BIOS/UEFI. If not, they're not really letting you get your money's worth out of your hardware. I'd complain very loudly if they said there isn't a way (there most likely is a way, they just think customers shouldn't have it for whatever reason.

They say Clevo do not allow such options on their systems. They as in the reseller I made the purchase from, PCSpecialist.

That's very odd that you can't access the BIOS/UEFI. You're sure you can't get into it by pressing one of the keys during boot commonly used to enter the BIOS/UEFI (F2, F8, F9, Delete are some ones I've seen)? I can't imagine access to the BIOS/UEFI totally being restricted since that makes it quite difficult to do common tasks (common for some people at least) like boot from a USB stick or external drive. Try mashing the F* keys and see if anything happens.

I can certainly access the BIOS by hitting F2, but many of the options are restricted particularly overclocking. PCspecialist confirmed it themselves - wankers.

Yeah, I'd say OCing via the BIOS/UEFI is going to be the best route to getting your hardware to act properly. It's a shame that Clevo went and locked down everything on a CPU that you usually have to pay through the nose just to get (and it's key feature is overclocking too). There's probably something you can do in the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, but unfortunately I don't know what that might be (sorry, I've been pretty useless in this thread so far :p) Try looking up some guides about the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility online; there may be something you've missed.

No, I appreciate all your help. I'll have to look for a modified version of my BIOS. Using ITEU, I'm able to keep the Turbo Boost consistent at 4.0Ghz, but my main enquiry why Dolphin was playing the games from 2 cores.
