Hello friends!
I have to admit I haven't used my Wiimotes (2 official ones) for a long time in Dolphin, not since Windows 7 anyway.
Read some topics here about problems pairing Wiimotes in Windows 8 and decided to test it it out for myself, heck I got some time over so I figured why not (and yes for those who remember I was on Server 2012 but have now switched to Windows 8 because of speed issues with DeSmuME so sue me)
Yes sir! There ain't no "Pair without using a code" option anymore and the damn thing wouldn't let me to pair it because obviously I had no code. Well if Windows was going to be a smart-ass, so was I.
And there was no way I was going to grab Wiipair or any other 3rd party program either, I'm done using 3rd party software because things should just work without them (and yes I have left MotioninJoy to)
So I launched the official release of Dolphin 3.5 x64 which I usually use, pressed the buttons 1 & 2 on the Wiimote and all four lights blinked like a Christmas tree and then I clicked the pair button and it paired instantly.
Played a level in New Super Mario Bros. Wii without problems and were satisfied with the result.
This was the easiest way to pair/connect a Wiimote without using the official Bluetooth wizard which fails or any other 3rd party programs.
So if everything fails, just pair/connect in Dolphin and be done with it.
It may not work for everybody, but I'm just glad that's over. Windows 8 is OK and I leave it at that.
EDIT: Hopefully I helped someone, if I didn't then there's not much I can do about it.
