How does one set up the wiimotes so they work without causing desynchs? What build to use? Can you save the game progress?

How do you setup Wii Remotes without desyncs? That's possible to do. My best recommendation would be to clear the Wii Remote INIs beforehand, then hand configure each person's controller.

Latest Builds have the most safeguards for Wii Netplay.

You can save game progress but it's tricky and requires all players making sure they have the same save.
