I had a Wii a year ago and I remember the motions were translated via Infrared to the Wii. But on all these guides I read the only thing you need is Bluetooth?
So via Bluetooth the emulator can read the motions like flicking or so and the button pressing of the Wiimote and Nunchuck?

Great emulator by the way, I wonder how the Wii already has such a great working emulator while the 360 has been out longer and it still hasn't any good emulator....

You need a compatible bluetooth adapter, usb charger (if you don't want to charge via Wii console), a program to make the Wiimote sync and/or driver. I'm playing Dolphin and PC games with the PS3 Controller. The 360 is a whole different story as far emulation goes because it's technically more advanced and would most likely required hardware from the future to emulate it...

I don't understand that. Why do I need an USB charger?
Basically all I need is Bluetooth working on my PC and a Wiimote + nunchuck. The program that mkes the Wiimote sync is Dolphin, right?

Okay so all I need is Wiimote + bluetooth and Dolphin and I'm set Smile
Windows 7 will do the rest for me, that guide is very easy and well-made.

So it's possible to play Pro Evolution Soccer on this emulator perfectly fine? That's a game that uses a lot of movement of the Wiimote on screen, a lot of aiming and pointing. Is that possible with just Bluetooth and no IR?

Big thanks for the reactions!

Here's a vid from someone playing PES Wii so you understand what I mean by aiming and pointing.

hey man, That infa-bar that comes with the wii isn't the one that make the read of what you're doing with the wiimote, the wiimote itself makes it, that bar just is to use the function where you point the wiimote to the screen, so, in many games it isn't used, that's why you only need a BT adapter -the nintendo wii uses bluetooth-

But in PES Wii, basically the only game I want to play on this emulator, the IR movement is needed a lot. Like you can see in the Youtube video, you point all the time. There's no other way to play this game.
So from what I deducted I need a Bluetooth adapter, Wiimote + Nunchuck and something IR to play PES Wii on Dolphin.

I had to laugh about the answers. Better don't rely too much on them.

To make it short:

The Wiimote has a IR Sensor in it. The "Sensor" Bar is nothing but a few IR-LED.

The wire and connection of the bar is ONLY for powering the LED. Nothing else.

Now to your question: Since the bar is only IR led you can
A: Buy a wireless one.
B: Buy a wired one, cut the wire and connect it to 12V
C: Use 2 Candles or any other light source that emit IR light.
D: Buy IR LED and solder your own bar. haha.
E: Find any other way to have 2 IR light sources.

Having those IR lights will make it possible to point if your wiimote is connected.

Pentium II 350 MHZ
Nvidia Riva 128 LX
128MB RAM
Windows ME Plus (32 Bit)
