Dolphin doesn't run well on *any* Android/ARM device at the moment. Don't base any purchase decisions on it.
If you want your kids to be able to play GameCube/Wii games, you'll need to either buy a Wii or an overly-expensive PC capable of emulating one. I recommend the former, honestly. (Also consider buying a Wii U! They actually do have a handful of great games in addition to all the Wii games they can play, and I'd prefer it if Nintendo didn't die or fall into irrelevance because of the thing.)
