I noticed that the codes I enter are usually under "Edit Config" under "[ActionReplay]", the same goes for Gecko codes downloaded from the WiiRD database, only under "[Gecko]" and the codes already there are under "Show Defaults" under "[ActionReplay]". Why is this? Codes under "[ActionReplay_Enabled]" I assume are the codes I have checked, but they must actually be in either of those two lists correct? Is there an easier way to manage codes? Should I be using the Dolphin UI or would it be easier to edit the documents themselves if I know how? I also ask this because I noticed a lot of the codes for Twilight Princess on the GC there be default cause some issues, and I'd prefer it if they were just gone, as they take up space and the list is long as it is. Why are the locations different?
I'm just going nuts as to why it's structured like this.
OH! Is there way to tell if a certain code is causing a crash without simply using trial and error? Does Dolphin have a diagnostics tool of sorts for this specific instance? Is there also a way to search for a code without going into the documents they are stored in to find them? As in, the giant list of Twilight Princess but I want to find an enable one, I usually go into the document and search using Ctrl+F and then add that to the other document under "[ActionReplay_Enabled]", but it gets tedious at times.
Thanks to the entry on the wiki about Twilight Princess, I discovered gc-forever, which is more accurately stated as I discovered the brilliant user "Ralf" and his codes are AMAZING. What are good sites to go for when I'm looking for specific and well-made codes? Mostly talking about stability and compatibility when I say "well-made". In other words, I don't want something like brkirch's "infinite epona dash meter" code that crashes Dolphin every time after working the first and only time.
I hear it's possible to also create codes? How would I go about this? Specifically for Metroid Prime 1 and 2, if the game matters that is. Also, what's the difference between a Patch and a code?
