I saw a HDMI to Wii adapter selling on Amazon. It connects the Wii to a PC monitor and upscales it to 1080p HD resolution.

Does this look anything like the PC emulator? or will it be filled with jaggies?

Nope , it's not really 1080p . Most LCD TV have scaler built in , it's just a waste of money
And Dolphin doesn't upscale anything . If you set Internal Resolution to 3x , it will be true 1080p
See it yourself :
Wii HDMI 1080p : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0BNjheY_EM
Dolphin HD 720p : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ojrq5DgEZuQ

Although 1080p > 720p but dolphin is the winner

It helps if the output is pixelated as hell...

However, dolphin is the winner..

Of course, it can go way beyond 1080p, for example i was able to run it at 3200×2400 resolution using high end ($62500 in 2005) 32" CRT display. My home PC with Sony GDM-C520K @ 2048x1536 looks nice too.
There won't be any console with resolutons that high for next 10-15 years (when UHD will be available) i think.
