The X20 may do okay but the X10 is not even as good as the Snapdragon 801.

Just curious, what's the issue with Helio X10? Bad CPU performance, bad GPU performance/drivers or both?
Avell A70 MOB: Core i7-11800H, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4-3200, Windows 11 (Insider Preview)
ASRock Z97M OC Formula: Pentium G3258, GeForce GT 440, 16 GB DDR3-1600, Windows 10 (22H2)

The Helio X10 only comes with Cortex A53's, which means CPU perf in dual core apps like dolphin is atrocious.

I don't think it's the A53s holding it back in this case. I think it is the PowerVR G6250 in it not detecting our load and running at ~100Mhz.
To be certain, I'm planning on getting an Amazon Fire TV when it is available. Which has 2x Cortex-A72s at 2Ghz and the same GPU.
This would give a good indication if it is being CPU or GPU/driver limited.

Yep it's going to be interesting comparing Fire TV A72s to MTK Helio X10, though GPU are slightly different:

Fire TV/IMG GX6250/Jan 2014/GFLOPS@650Mhz - 83.2/166.4
Helio X10/IMG G6200/Jan 2012/GFLOPS@600Mhz - 76.8/76.8

With Series6XT you get more performance and features.
Including things like ASTC.
