So I'm running Pikmin 2 and I want to use some action replay codes n' whatnot but I haven't the slightest clue how. When I go to the cheat manager there is nothing in the AR codes tab or gecko codes tab. Clicking the "Download Codes (WiiRD Database)" does nothing in the gecko codes tab. Clicking "new scan" in the cheat search tab comes up with some 35 million cheats and I'm like wtfbbq? I click around more in that tab and manage to narrow down the number of codes to around 100-ish so they'll display but I'm still like wtfbbq? I have no clue what "oo4f6af1 00000000" means. I go to codejunkies.com for the AR codes for Pikmin 2 and none of it seems to add up at all. Am I doing something wrong or...? I'm currently running the latest version of Dolphin (r7606). I would greatly appreciate some help. Sorry ahead of time for me being a complete noob at this. I was playing Pikmin 2 today on my Wii and I was like, "I should totally emulate this gaime and use codes n' stuff bcuz I can." So I just recently downloaded Dolphin and got Pikmin 2 up and running. Many thanks ahead of time.

Did you check "Enable cheats"?

If all you want is use pre-made codes and not custom codes (and if you have no clue how cheat searching is done), then do not pay attention to the Cheat Search feature.
(Dolphin supports both ActionReplay [mainly for GC games] and Gecko [mainly for Wii games] codes.)

That button in Tools->Cheat Manager does nothing; the one in the game properties will work. It's best to do that when emulation isn't running.
You will have to right-click the game from the game list in Dolphin, go to its properties, open the "Gecko Codes" tab and press the button in it.
That's the only way to add Gecko codes for now, other than opening the game INI and inserting the code in it (which may cause issues if the text editor changes line ending characters...).
My computer specs:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x86
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @2.66Ghz - 2GB of DDR2 RAM (400Mhz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512

So that's assuming I have the Wii version of Pikmin 2? If I'm correct, than there definitely is both a Wii and GC rom of Pikmin 2. However, I'm not sure which I have. I just use the iso I downloaded from here: http://www.gcisozone.com/downloads/12/Pikmin-2.html . So I'm not too sure what you mean by opening the actual game and going to properties because there isn't a gecko tab. The only tabs are general, security, and detail.

Don't open the properties of the ISO file; you have to right-click it from Dolphin's game list, click Properties and you'll see the "AR Codes" and "Gecko Codes" tabs.

Even if you own the original game disc for Wii, do not *ever* talk about "downloading an ISO" on this forum, as it is considered illegal at least here; you'll very likely get banned if such talk/act is found, as shown in the forum rules. Try not to mention it at all. (In some cases involving "dumping" something from the real hardware, however...)
By reading this page and/or with some searching, you can find 2 legal ways to dump a GC/Wii game from plain disc to PC; one that uses a certain feature found in very few DVD PC drives, and one that requires a GC/Wii homebrew exploit to be performed (in order to install the Homebrew Channel which makes it easier later on, or to run an homebrew app such as "Wii DVD Dumper")... Again, for more info, try searching more (Google is your friend)...

Thank you so much, this is very helpful information I didn't know. I'll keep all of this in mind! Big Grin
