Hello World,

Ok, I  finally managed to find an online store in my country that sells one of those bluetooth adapters(a sena UD100 to be specific) and with any luck it should arrive tomorrow or the day after. So once it arrives I should be all set and have all the components needed to get this thing started.

However, after installing Dolphin and reading up in a bunch of places(yes, including the "Read me first" thread of this sub-forum) to be prepared for when the adapter arrives, I am now more confused then ever....  Confused

So, a few questions please, and if they make me sound stupid... so be it:

1. This Wii remote connection guide states that -TR Wii Remotes are not an issue anymore in Bluetooth Passthrough mode, however it doesn't make it very clear(for me at least) if Windows 7 is still an issue or not in Bluetooth Passthrough mode.

2. Do I still need to connect my Wii remote to the pc first as shown in this video (I know that guy ran Dolphin 4 when that video was made, but I figured I'd ask just to be safe) or do I listen to what the Dolphin wiki says here under Real Wiimote quote: "Note: Do not pair the Wii Remote to your computer. The operating system may interfere with Dolphin's ability to connect with the Wii Remote."?

3. Do I just follow what this guide says under windows and ignore everything else?

4. The guide I linked at question 3 says that since 5.0-910 Dolphin has the ability to passthrough bluetooth. But I installed the latest stable release of Dolphin and if I open it up and go to help>about it says there that it's version 5.0. Does this mean I installed the wrong version and I have to uninstall it and install version 5.0-910?

5. If you answer at nr. 4 that yeah I have to uninstall it and install 5.0-910 then should I limit myself to just that one or install the latest development version? I mean they are both beta versions, right? So what's the difference? What are the pro's and con's of just installing 5.0-910 vs that latest one?

Any other advice you can give as to the steps I should take the first time attempting this would be greatly appreciated, and feel free to dumb it down(even to the point of something like "You takes the cap of the bluetooth adapter, you sticks the adapter in the little usb shaped hole...") I don't mind, in fact I think I'd actually prefer it loool...  Big Grin  Ok I'm only joking there, well, half joking...

Point is as I get more experienced using this stuff I'm sure I'll feel more comfortable to start experimenting. But I'm being this anal at the moment because in the beginning, after all the money I've spent getting all the stuff together and all the headaches it's caused, I want it to just work, so I can just sit down, and just play some damn games!

Thank you all sooo very much.

It's supposed to not be an issue with Bluetooth passthrough.

Do what the wiki says, not what that video says.

You can ignore the Linux, macOS and Android parts, but there might be some useful information under "Using passthrough mode in Dolphin".

Yes, the stable release won't work and you will need to download a newer one. But uninstalling the stable version isn't necessary.

My recommendation is to use the latest, not 5.0-910.

Ok, cool, thank you JosJuice, but, hm... I downloaded the latest beta release, and it seems to just be a zip with all the files inside, won't it be a problem if I just copy those without an installer which usually also adds registry entries, redistributables, etc.?
And I'd really like to uninstall the stable release first as I don't like having duplicates in my system, is that gonna be a problem?

The installer doesn't do anything like that, AFAIK only extra is installing 64-bit Visual C++ redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, so just don't uninstall that.

No, there won't be any problems. The worst that can happen is that the program won't start at all if you don't have the right C++ redistributable installed, but if you've ran the 5.0 installer, you already have it.

No, that's not a problem. Feel free to uninstall it if you want to.

You're thinking to much into this & making it more complicated than it is. Just follow JosJuice's instructions and you'll be fine. Dolphin doesn't need an installer & nothing is written to your registry as far as Dolphin is concerned. Yes you can erase the 5.0 stable version. It has no bearing on any of the beta releases. Just extract the contents of the zip file to a folder of your choice. Do not copy it to your Program Files or Program Files (x86) folders
Windows 11 Home x64
Intel Core i7-10700
Nvidia Rtx 2060 6GB
32.0 GB DDR4 RAM

Brother you don't know the half of it!! You wanna know how crazy/obsessive compulsive I can get when I'm really hoping that things will go right?! Well let me tell you, when I installed version 5.0 I literally just sat there starring at the screen/installer for about 5 minutes trying to decide if I should/could rename the main install folder to something else or just leave it the default "Dolphin" so as to not risk causing any problems because I've renamed it!!!!! looool Big Grin Big Grin

I know, I know, I definitely have some mental problems, but the fact remains that on occasion, super rarely but still, I have encountered software that does have problems if you rename the main folder during installation; you could place it anywhere you want(no matter how many subfolders), just not rename the last/main install folder... Tongue

Ok, well thank you guys very much, I'll follow your instructions and hope against hope that things turn out well....  Confused
