That app I mentioned is also outdated, but connects to some internet database at the same time, which is why it claims 4.3 support in some spots and 4.4 in others.

OpenGL 4.4 is brand spankin new. I would expect some applications to have a tough time reporting its support on drivers.

Nvidia's drivers on Linux report which version of OpenGL is supported, even down to each individual extension available. You sure Nvidia's Windows drivers don't have anything equivalent? Have you poked around it?

That OpenGL extensions viewer shows a breakdown when you click on view details.

Okay, it does say ARB_buffer_storage is supported under 4.4 when I click on show details. But what's funny is the show summary tab under 4.4 still says 4.30. But Dolphin not detecting my GPU has OGL 4.4 support is the issue.

430 sounds like a GLSL version.

btw, how did you test if we use buffer_storage? Just testing for performance isn't fine Wink

Because the intro to Metroid Prime when Samus' ship first appear slows down to 70-60% but runs at 100% with an old revision with VSH on.

And how do you know buffer storage is working? For the most part, OpenGL runs just like with VSH on, it's only in the real intense scenes is where you'll notice slowdown that wasn't there before when VSH was on.
