just wanted to ask people on Dolphin forums how do i change 'Kirby Epic Yarn' aka 'Keito no Kirby' the Japanese version. to have Eng font and Subtitles? one way im trying to do this is using HxD Hex Editor and then trying to change all the words that say Japanese to EnglishUS.

but that is a guessing game, im unsure what exactly needs to be changed to ENG in the main.dol file using HxD Hex editor.

here is the instructions im following. this is a Word document on using HxD Hex Editor some people on gba temp used.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1N-RiA_pwpz1d849u4XQVuR5d-s89eYE7?usp=sharing

the information is from this thread
https://gbatemp.net/threads/donkey-kong-country-returns.267043/#post-3294678

and the following youtube link.

"none of the links in the youtubes description work anymore."

this is what i see, when i try to do it myself in HxD, searching for jap i've tried it many times loaded the game up in dolphin and still no success yet. im using Dolphin version 5.0 15999

the other way im trying to figure out how to change the language is what was posted in this thread
https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-howto-using-gameini-settings-per-game

i go into the games .ini file in the Dolphin emulator itself the Wii game Keito no Kirby. then its Config's editor's .ini is RK5J01 inside i make changes like this.

[Core]

CPUThread = True
MMU = True
FPRF = True
SyncGPU = True
FastDiscSpeed = True
DSPHLE = True
GPUDeterminismMode = auto
[Video_Stereoscopy]
StereoEFBMonoDepth = True

[Wii]

Language = 1

and again still no success, getting the game to have eng text and japanese audio is my goal, im trying to get the game to be like this Youtube Video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEET7W9elwQ

once successful i intend to dump the textures and then upscale them using REAL-ESRGAN.
but i want the game in Japanese audio with Eng font like the youtube video.

ive never done this sort of thing before with HxD or modifying the RK5J01.ini and im trying my best to figure it out.
any help would be great, either method used is fine.

the sooner i can get this done the sooner i can dump and then upscale the textures.

Almost seems like it would be easier to just use the US version, and replace it US Audio with the JPN Audio instead of the other way around.

Try extracting the disc through Dolphin first. You get a file list of just files, which you can browse through on a regular Windows PC. You can try and see if you can find the audio files that way from both extracted discs. In which case it's just a matter of copy-and-paste. You don't need to rebuild the disc perse, since Dolphin can run GC/Wii games in their extracted file list format as well.

your amazing! despite the fact we had a misunderstanding a while ago on my other thread, your speaking to me again and offering your help as well. Respect to you Admentus. Smile

thankyou ill try what you suggested, i have been speaking with ShadowOne333 the one continuing the 'Metroid Other M Maxximum edition Project. he may have some ideas. im hoping what i learn through these exercises will be beneficial for translating other games as well, like 'Kidou Senshi Gundam: Gundam vs. Z Gundam' for Gamecube for example. or maybe even the DragonBall Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 projects.
