I posted this on Reddit but I thought I'd post here as well.
My setup involves the Mayflash Dolphinbar with 4 real Wiimotes and a balance board on a Windows PC. My PC is connected to my TV and serves as a media center so I launch everything through Steam. For that reason, I rarely open Dolphin directly (links in Steam open Dolphin and start the emulation).
At this point, I've tried several revisions and had problems where some games (like New Super Mario) would not recognize any remotes regardless of whether I connected them before opening Dolphin, after opening, or after starting emulation; other games (like Mario Kart) would only recognize controllers if they were connected after emulation started (not before); other games would only recognize if they were connected before emulation started; and Wii Fit Plus seemed to work fine with the balance board and the remote regardless of when they were connected. Obviously this is not ideal.
After messing around with settings and different revisions, trying to get it to work, I came to the conclusion having the balance board enabled causes most of the problems with those games. When I disabled the balance board in settings, all the other games I tried were able to pick up the remotes regardless.
So my first thought was, "I'll just set the link for Wii Fit to open Dolphin on one revision with the settings set to enable the balance board and have everything else open another revision with the settings set to have the board disabled." But now that settings are stored /user/Documents instead of with the exe, that won't work. So my question is: is there anyway to do this (run two revisions with two different settings, like a dual install) or, is there another way to get the same revision to open with different settings enabled?
Bonus questions: Anyone else have this problem or a similar problem? Any other solutions or suggestions? What's your favorite kind of pizza? Is there a way to toggle this setting with the keyboard? Anyone using DolphinBar and the balance board figure out a way to turn off the board other than pulling the batteries?
Thanks for reading!
