Compatibility percentages on the homepage show the percentage of titles at each compatibility status. However I'm not sure how they are calculated, and at first glance it seems incorrect. For example:
  • Intro/Menu: 0.3%
  • Broken: 0.7%

This would imply more games are broken (1 star) than intro/menu (2 stars). But when I looked at the actual list, I found:

Broken (1 star) (3 titles):
  • Monster Lab
  • Wii Backup Disc
  • Wii "My Room" Channel

Intro/Menu (2 stars) (9 titles):
  • Dragon Quest X: Mezameshi Itsutsu no Shuzoku Online
  • Escape from Bug Island
  • Game Boy Player
  • Hulu Plus Channel
  • Kirby TV Channel
  • Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Trial Edition
  • Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel
  • Truth or Lies
  • We Sing

This does not seem to make logical sense; if there are more titles in a category then the percentage should be higher not lower. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

The compatibility list is pulling from the wiki for its data, and there are a lot of ratings that don't have corresponding pages. The compatibility list only entires for games with game pages, but the percentages take all wiki ratings into account. That's the discrepancy!

Thanks, so I just looked through all 14 compatibility lists on the wiki, and I only found 1 title which both has no page and also has 1 star (Pop for WiiWare). This would still mean there are more games with two stars than one star. Is there something else I've missed? Does the website count games with 0 stars as having 1 star for the purpose of calculating the percentages?

EDIT: Just looked into the source code and found that it doesn't treat 0 as equivalent to 1 and that it gets the ratings basically by counting templates with prefix "Ratings/" and value equal to the current value. These can be found here:

https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Special:PrefixIndex/Template:Ratings/

From there, I managed to work out that the discrepancy actually comes from Triforce games. All Triforce games have 1 star, but Triforce games are not shown on the compatibility list on the website, even if they do have a corresponding page on the wiki. This would make the numbers about 19 (3 titles from website compatibility list + Pop + 15 Triforce titles) and 9 (as above) for 1 and 2 stars respectively. This makes it much more understandable when looking at the percentage figures. However I do think it's a bit inconsistent that Triforce is taken into account when calculating the website percentages but not taken into account when displaying the website compatibility list itself.

Well Triforce games used to be bootable in Dolphin with a very messy workaround. Triforce has since been removed from Dolphin support, so....
