House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return Widescreen Hack

The widescreen hack of House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return is incredibly weird.
So, first off, the game I mostly wanted to play in widescreen, House of the Dead 2, had one major issue: The HUD was stretched, and that included the cursor, which I wanted to play the game with.
This meant that the cursor was completely off the shot at all times, and worst of all, the shot kept on shifting to the left and right of the cursor. Keep in mind you can still only shoot in the normal aspect ratio of the game, but the cursor could move farther. If the HUD wasn't stretched, not being able to shoot out of the intended screen size wouldn't be an issue.
However, well... It was stretched.
Now, here is where it gets even weirder.
In House of the Dead 3, the widescreen hack works PERFECTLY.
The HUD isn't stretched, nor is the cursor. Everything works as it should, and though now I do have a way of playing House of the Dead 3 in widescreen, I am still puzzled: Why does House of the Dead 3 work perfectly but House of the Dead 2 does not?
Keep in mind, both games emulate perfectly without the widescreen hack.
If this is any help, House of the Dead 3's HUD includes 3D models, and House of the Dead 2's does not. Just thought that might help anybody looking to find a solution.
If there's any Gecko or Action Replay codes I don't know about this game, or you have a good solution, please, feel free to share!

That would explain it. When the game draws a 2D image directly onto the screen without going through the 3D pipeline, Dolphin's widescreen hack stretches the image, since there otherwise would be major problems with games that use EFB copies for post-processing.
