Hello everyone!
I got quite a weird situation and wonder what's causing it. Currently when I hold any button the peformance goes up signifcantly. For example in Windwaker on outset island when I'm not touching any button the peformance is around 12FPS As soon as I touch it peformance goes up to between 25 en 30 fps. Keep in mind that I'm not moving or anything like that. Nothing changes apart from me pressing and holding a button. As soon as i let go peformance drops to between 10 en 15 FPS again. Does any might be able to explain what is causing this?
I have so far only tested this on The Legend of zelda: Windwaker on vulkan (exynos 9810 SOC)

Ah, that explains. Samsung's DVFS in action. btw you could use CPU monitor to see how it's changing CPU freq on touch of your finger

Sounds like we need some kind of turbo button: Please press this button on Samsung devices to improve the performance.

I was using CPU burn as a workaround Big Grin

Downloaded Trepn profiler and indeed as soon as I touch a button the freq goes up significantly.

If that could actually be implented that would be great though :P

lol That's actually working quite well though peformance is way more solid even when I'm not touching a button.
EDIT: Audio stutter is also gone in most games now the frequancy is solid!
EDIT2: Holy crap this actually works really well, twilight princess now runs on a solid 30FPS (mostly) without audio stutters! (vulkan)
Would there be any way to actually implent a feature to keep DVFS from doing it's thing? Or is that up to samsung?

But would their by any way to implent a feature which would prevent this from happening? Some option to make sure that the DVFS doesn't mess up with the peformance? Even though a CPU burner works it doesn't seem to be the best alternative since it also heats up faster. I Know this is something that Samsung itself should change but wouldn't there be a simple fix that could be inmpented?

I can confirm this through snap dragon note 8.
