I haven't really done much testing with HLE but does it provide a performance boost compared to LLE?

It certainly does. It´s gotten more accurate (almost as the same as LLE) with, of course, the speed up it brings with it.

Unless you're dealing with fringe cases, HLE audio generally covers all of your audio needs. I haven't turned to LLE audio in over a year now.

Did you read the "Rise of HLE Audio" article? Sounds like it may have made you curious about HLE audio. If you haven't seen the article, give it a good read.

I actually did notice a performance boost when switching. Me setup would let me get 1.5x on Project M using LLE without any problems. I tried it with HLE i can get to 2x now only a little frame drop but perfect when playing! I mostly used LLE about... 1000 revisions ago or more. I had an issue with Mario Kart DD the audio sounded weird so i switched to LLE using my wii dumps. Yes I did real the article got me wondering why i haven't tried it sooner!

Nowadays, the only need of DSP LLE (at least for me) is if you find the pitch/volume issues that DSP HLE currently have in Zelda uCodes too annoying...
