I wrote this simple program to make trying out new builds easier.

how to use:
once you have told it where you keep your builds, just select which build you want to migrate from and to and what you want to take with you (config, profiles, dump, gc, textures, state saves, wii title, screen shots) and the migration mode (copy/move). Then just hit the "migrate" button and wait for your files to be copied/moved.

it was actually this post that got me started on this - http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=17482

see attachment for download(windows).

Cant download attachment? then try this.

Cool!

This could be very handy for those of switch revisions a lot.

I think if you give it some time, it might become a hit and those bugs will be solved.

This would be REALLY handy if you implemented regression testing with automatic revision downloading etc Tongue

It's not always a good idea to copy over all files from old to new revisions, having people use this could cause the forum to see more Dolphin related issues that are not real.

Saying "this might not work with all builds" can be confused with the program just not working, that does not cover the issues it can/will cause if files are copied over to a build that needs the files that were originally there. There is not always an error message that comes up if the wrong files are there, things could just be slower or just not act right and many people can't tell the difference or know why. If it were me I'd just give a few more details about what can go wrong and then it should be fine.

the only thing that would cause an issue is copying/moving the configuration files, other than that its pretty safe, profiles (GCPAD and Wiimote folders), dump (the entire dump folder), statesaves and wii title (user\wii\title) it doesn't touch any other files/folders.

Not only is it a really well-crafted tool but it's also a very useful one. You just need to advertize it more. How about asking guys, such as lectrode, link_to_the_past, emucr, about it? Moreover, your tool would get more attention if it had support for pcsx2 binaries.

Good job anyway!

Nothing personal, but I'm not sure how useful this actually is. I can copy and paste the files I need simply and easily in a few seconds. Why do I need a program to do this?
