Okay. I'm sorry. I'll give you a serious response. This is probably the strangest question in awhile though.

It's an entirely different console. Just because Dolphin is designed one way doesn't mean that same design style would work for a different console. the n64 is entirely different from a GC or a Wii.

It's an entirely different game. You're assuming that every Factor 5 game works the same way. Even on different consoles. This is not the case.

We would have to give a crap about n64 emulation? There's nothing stopping anybody from contributing to P64 anymore since they went open source. People who work on Dolphin work on all sorts of things.

Not really too related, but it would be great if Dolphin showed P64 - and some other emulators for that matter (*cough*PCSX2*cough*) - how to have a sane UI. >.>

We're not that much better in that regard tbh.

Willing to bet P64 or PCSX2 doesn't override game specific settings whenever the user opens a config UI.

Also willing to bet neither emu writes to disk whatever setting overrides you set when launching the emu from command line. (Fun fact. Dolphin does. RIP)

PCSX2 also got a much prettier controller config UI recently. (I'm being unfair with that comparison.)

These are more quirks of implementation I would say. Maybe PCSX2 got revamped recently, but when I last tried it (some 5-6 months ago) there was still no sane "pause emulation" shortcut (IIRC you can press Escape, which pauses emulation, exits fullscreen, and to start it again I don't remember what you have to do but you might have to actually select in from a menu), there was no FPS overlay, and I found savestates to be basically unusable: they use the system of "press 1-9 to select a state, then press Save and Load hotkeys (e.g. F5 and F7), but they have no overlay to show which is the currently active state, meaning that accidentally overwriting an important state is extremely easy.
