So, been well over a year since I played around with Dolphin. What can i say? I have been busy and haven't been in a gamecube/wii mood.
Anyways, I am one of the 10 people still using a steam controller. For me it is more of an accessibility controller as I do have some mobility issues and nerve damage in my hands, although they are minor in general. Issue is, it seems Dolphin has SDL controller input? I may be stupid but either I have never noticed it before, it is a somewhat more recent addition, or maybe it's changed in a way that causes my issue.
See the steam controller has one big flaw. Notoriously it does very poorly with anything game or amulator that tries to use SDL. Usually it just doesn't work, but in Dolphin's case, it is simply crashing out. other controllers work, even using Steam input, just not the SC. For MAME, another problem child, the solution is really super duper simple, just disable SDL by switching APIs. Seems to me Dolphin is loading it up if it is being used or not. So my REAL question here is...
Is there a way to disable SDL entirely? Or maybe just not, I dunno, initialize it, without it being explicitly used?
Please and thank you for any assist you guys are willing to provide.
