i was playing soul calibur on my wii the other day,and i was thinking.....hmmm how cool would it be to play this game in 720p or even at 1680x1050. It looks good right now so it should look great in HD. so i load up dolphin and all it shows me is a black screen. im using the PAL version with SVN r 3932. All i get is a black screen. i dont want to conver the disk to NTSC because if something goes wrong my game is gone, and i know i can back it up from my wii, but the GC dumper i have is slow and it either fails all the time or is rly slow. How can i play this game???

What do you mean by : " i dont want to conver the disk to NTSC because if something goes wrong my game is gone" ?

I don't know whether or not PAL or NTSC version for this game works, could just be broken in the revision you are using. I don't know about this game really, see the game's thread (if there is one).
Anyway, converting (patching) the game to NTSC won't help anything, because the only change that is really made is the region tag, which tells the wii menu if it's allowed to run it. The actual differences between the PAL and NTSC version will still be there.

there are iso converters that convert the games video mode from PAL to NTSC so u get the frame rate at 60fps instead of 50. I have had bad experiences with a wii version of those. My aunt sent me Wii music form Germany, and i didnt work on my wii so i got a converter to convert he video mode, but the disc ended up not readable after wards. If u force PAl to ntsc u cant play it in HD. only SD. Regarding soul calibur i figured out that i needed to use the IL version, and turn on safe texture cache. i did that, and now it loads, it hangs at the NAMCO part. im pretty sure this is not caused by the fact that it is a PAL game. Dolphin shouldn't have issues emulating a PAL game because its not an actual console, but what could be the problem. the game is on the perfect list so shouldnt it be working?
Maybe its my build idk. (3940) 08-06-2009, 08:45 AM

Color problems like those I think occurs mainly for people with bad graphics card, or integrated cards.
