So I ordered a RetroLink classic USB gamecube controller from ThinkGeek and I immediately ran into a few issues that seem to pertain to the functionality of the C-Stick. After mapping my controller, it became apparent that whatever dolphin detected as my left and right inputs for the C-Stick serve no functional purpose. However, the most inconvenient part is that left and right inputs on the Main Stick also move the c-stick slightly horizontally; enough for my games to recognize it as c-stick inputs. For example, in SSBM, moving left/right in the air sometimes cause me to perform left/right ariel attacks, as if i had used the C-Stick to perform them. Needless to say, this is a very irritating problem, and if you have a solution or anything I should try, please let me know. It is also worth noting that left on the D-pad registers as down/right on the c-stick. I included screenshots of my controller config, pressing left on the d-pad, and a picture of the box the controller comes in. Replies are greatly appreciated.

Quite a few people have come in here complaining about the sticks on these things, especially OS X users. I dunno what exactly the issue is, though. >_>

SOMEONE PLEASE!!!! Sticky this... This is the most detailed post yet. Aesop3 has describe the problem very well and the solution that has been posted many times this month remains the same.
RetroLink controllers have a false c-stick. Meaning the driver/firmware RetroLink has created does not support the c-stick correctly ( see Aesop3's description ). There is nothing dolphin can do to fix this, nor a driver found on that net could fix the problem. You must contact RetroLink to find a fix, once you do please bring it here. From what I know this is a HID meaning no drivers are needed. thus the error is in the firmware itself and the only way to fix that is a new chip or controller. What does that mean? It means your SOL because no game controller manufacture will issue a recall on such a cheep device. It's best in your favor to return it if possible. Hey ulao, sorry for the late reply.
I'm contacting RetroLink tonight, and I'll reply to this thread again with the results. This seemingly minor inconvenience renders some games unplayable. 08-25-2015, 04:36 AM

Please read our forum rules and don't necropost. Create a new thread instead.
Your attempt is futile anyway as the user is not registered to the forum anymore. It's probably unlikely to get fixed anyway: (03-31-2014, 09:35 PM)ulao Wrote: From what I know this is a HID meaning no drivers are needed. thus the error is in the firmware itself and the only way to fix that is a new chip or controller.
