Help with Mario Galaxy Penguin Race

I've tried searching here/ngemu/google, but to no avail. I'm at the point where the penguin tells me to twist my controller left, but I can't really do that on a keyboard, or my wiimote since I don't have a wireless bluetooth card. I tried remapping the pitch left and right keys to 9 and 0 on rev 4302 but that didn't do much. Can anyone help?
