hi so i have a problem with the integrated gba

when I open my backup of pokemon XD gale of darkness and choose group battle, I connect the first gba window with my personal copy of fire red as player one it connects just fine the issue I'm having is this: when I connect fire red via the player one window it reads the game and connects BUT it says there is no save file and fails the connection in the pokemon XD window I have the save from my cartridge in documents > dolphin emulator > gba > saves and I've no clue if i'm doing it correctly any help would be appreciated!

also should mention it does the same thing with pokemon colosseum

(p.s. it does this with all of my other dumped pokemon carts the saves are in the same directory as well)

(p.p.s. zelda four swords final fantasy crystal chronicles and pokemon box work just fine)

You need to put -2 at the end of the savefile name for a GBA in port 2, -3 next to the savefile if the GBA is port 3, etc. etc.

hey sorry for the late response
anyway I've put the -2 at the end of the socket 2 save and -3 for socket 3 it still gives me the "there is no save file" error on the gba screen I've tested the saves on the standalone mgba emulator and they work fine they even emulate gba to gba link cable perfectly (battles trades etc) so I'm very confident they should work with gba to gcn link I've tried connecting with gba tcp and still says "there is no save file"

p.s. as per my original post I must mention that I'm choosing group battle in XD gale of darkness with gba vs gba selected which requires a gba in socket 2 and 3 the Gamecube controller (or in this case my box one controller) in socket 1

thanks for your help! anymore would be well appreciated!

Did you make sure to place the GBA saves in the GBA save folder or make sure that you have the option in Options -> Configuration -> GC to not use a separate save folder for GBA games?

yeah i put the saves in dolphin emulator > gba > saves and "save in the same directory as rom" is disabled in the gc config menu

I'd need screenshots of your setups to see how you've got everything setup. You might need to upload them to a third party like imgur.

you need to set the rom in port 2/3 to the actual roms you're using, not the GBA BIOS.
