First timer here:

My Dolphin 4.0-652 does not load up my SSBM (v1.02 and i know 100% is the real deal) when i try to connect with Netplay for a match.
I'll do the process to connect with someone and when they start the match, the new window that pops up for the match goes black and a message appears:

Titled: Dolphin Direct3D 11 backend
saying "Failed to enumerate adapters"

with an OK Button. I click on it, and Dolphin immediately  stops working leaving me the only option to close it completely.

I really appreciate the help.

Thanks!

You are treading on dangerous ground, there, buddy.

In any case, Dolphin 4.0-652? For goodness sake, update!! Your problem will probably go away.

He's using a netplay build (the recommended version by people who play smash online)

Oh, my b. In that case, I have no idea how to fix that problem, I don't play online. Try using OpenGL maybe?

It's now been totally obsoleted by master, though, hasn't it? I've noticed far fewer "652 is borked" threads on the Dolphin Emulator subreddit since the recent UDP netplay merge, and that would imply fewer places are recommending 652 over master than there used to be.

You're right, 4.0-5861 Master should have obsoleted 4.0-652. Try updating

As a Mod on Smashladder.com it is not completely obsolete, as master cannot play Project M synced because there still is not Wii NAND syncing in netplay.

But as for the topic at hand. Try OpenGL as a NKF mentioned, it would also be helpful if we knew what OS(exactly), CPU, and GPU you have.

You can manually sync the Wii NAND on newer revisions.
