Hello, I will buy a new PC and I need to choose a good processor.

I want to know what is the cheapest processor that is fast enough to play GC/Wii games with good quality, at full speed, without slowdown, without annoying problems, and with audio (I love game musics). My screen will not be larger than 17 inches.

First, I want to know the minimum required to play GC, but it does not need to play Wii.
Second, the minimum required to play Wii.
If the processor that is required to play Wii is very expensive, I will buy a cheaper processor to play only GC.

How many cores should the processor have?
Should I run Dolphin with Windows XP, Windows 7 or Ubuntu? 32 bit or 64 bit?

I want to invest in a good processor and keep it for a long time.
I do not want to use overclock.

Some of the games that I want to play:
GC
-Super Mario Sunshine
-Skies of Arcadia Legends
-Tales of Symphonia
-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC or Wii)

Wii
-Super Mario Galaxy
-Sonic Colors
-The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
-Xenoblade Chronicles
-The Last Story
-Mario Kart
-Super Smash Bros

Thanks

At least 2.

Windows 7 64 bit.

Both have similar requirements.

It's impossible to get fullspeed in every game no matter how powerful your hardware is. Some games will have issues, including audio issues, no matter what hardware you are using.

We recommend you get a sandy bridge cpu if you can. An i3 will do but an i5 is more future proof.

What about your other specs? What graphics card are you using?

Nah , that Pentium is a locked multiplier CPU ( you can't overclock it ) and it's not powerful enough to play The Last Story , SMG
Option 1 : fullspeed most games
Either get the i5 2500k or the cheap Intel G6950 overclock to 4.0Ghz
For the motherboard , get Z68 or P67 (Gigabyte,Asus,MSI)

Option 2 : For durability (not overclock)
Either get i5 2400 or i5 2500 or i7 2600
For the motherboard , get H67

Does the motherboard influence the peformance?

Is there difference between i5-2500 and i5-2500k?
I do not know about Turbo Boost, is it safe?

Some Intel processors have graphics components, it is useless, because I can use a graphics card. It would be cheaper without graphics components.

What about AMD's processors? Do they have the best performance/price ratio?

Yes and no , yes for overclockers
Quote:Is there difference between i5-2500 and i5-2500k?
i5 2500 is not overclockable

It's 1000% safe

You'll need a middle class graphic card

For those games you mentioned .....No no no unless you overclock it to 4Ghz but still not enough compare to i5
