If you really really want to play with a XBOX360 controller I encourage you to still get a real Wiimote, Nunchuck and a wireless sensor bar. Because it's good to have nonetheless. And once you have that you can easily play around with the real Wiimote and Nunchuck to figure out what buttons and movements do what and then you can try to experiment with configuring the XBOX360 controller afterwards.
I did this with Twilight Princess recently, got it almost to control like the GC version and I'm on my way making a new profile just for Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 now.
I know that for a quick play once in a while to play a few levels it's certainly easier just grabbing the XBOX360 controller and start.
