Help please

OK, another guy HAD posted this,but he hadn't got an answer. I downloaded a .gcp file and I can't use it. I can't find saves in .gci format either; they're all in .gcp format. What am I supposed to do? Is there a way to convert gci to gcp? Is there a way to load the gci save? Should I just give up?
