Hey guys,
I plan getting myself a new computer to replace my crappy one during this Thanksgiving sale. The one I think I'm buying (Oh and it's a desktop) has the processor Intel Core i5-650, which I heard from before is one of the latest and best processors nowadays. The computer also comes with a dedicated graphic card (nVIDIA GeForce 310, not the best one out there but still..). But for personal preferences, I plan to get a laptop that has those (or things close to those), so here go my questions:
- Even if the laptop has the same graphic card, CPU clock frequency and the same processor as the desktop, can there be any difference? I've heard that laptops aren't for gaming, and I'm a (kinda) serious gamer.
- There's a cheaper one that has the same processor but it has "Integrated Graphics." From my limited knowledge, integrated graphics or on-board graphics are bad for gaming; is it true that you should have a dedicated graphics card?
- My current computer has the following specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 2.66 GHz
4.00 GB RAM (3.44 usable)
Windows 7 OS
ATI Radeon XPress 1200 Series ( <- on-board graphics, right?)
Can I expect a big difference when I get the new computer? (It also has Windows 7 and 8 GB RAM.)
Thanks in advance.
P/S: Sorry for my bad English. And also, I have limited budget, so I can't afford anything more than an i5.
