Good then you can use newegg.

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157310

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899

Power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095

HSF: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099

That will give you pretty much top of the line performance in dolphin for $500 but you'll have to hold off on a graphics card upgrade. How much PC gaming do you do and what do you usually play?

Edit: I'll be back in 2 hours or tomorrow.

I'll have to think about this ... i already have this computer from my dad as a grad present and 500$ in grad money that i would like to put in better use than getting a desktop but who knows persuade me, if i can build a good enough computer i'll proab bite.

What's your PSU ? (power supply - brand and wattage)
It would be a waste of money to throw away Phenom II x6
CM Hyper 212 Evo (34$)
ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ (85$)
Arctic MX-4 (10$)
If your PSU is good enough to handle both GPU and CPU then
Sapphire 7870 (215$) + AMD's Never Settle Bundle (Free games)

@NV
i5 4670k + B75 mobo (Locked Ivy mobo + Haswell) ???

Anyway to determine my power supply besides opening up my computer? And i know i shouldn't throw it away but i wouldn't want it if i can't overclock it to be honest.

520w is impossible to reach with a single gpu and it can even support some SLI and Cross (not for all cards), take any good quality psu bronze 80+ with 500w or more, if you take a 620w its a bit better for the silence.

All Phenom II CPUs can overclock . OEM mobo does not support overclocking , you must replace that sh*tty mobo if you want to overclock . Did you think OEM manufacturer would be fool enough to allow each user overclock and kill their machine ?

It's not too hard to do that you know ...

No, i just ment i didn't know if there was anyway to overclock it besides starting fresh but if you say getting a new mobo and keeping my Phenom II will allow me to overclock then im all for it.

And Lol, i know its not hard but if i really HAVE to open it then i will... just thought there might be some software to determine that but that is prob not possible since a power supply isn't some sort of driver or anything. But yeah i'll look at it most likely i know for a fact i need a better power supply.

Anyways Tigerdirect has a in store upgrade service for 30$ so i plan on doing everything there from them... can you guys link anything from tigerdirect? And how much can i raise the ghz too? Would be nice to have it at 4.0+ghz

Also heres what i found about the power supply from the hp link :
Power Supply
Internal 300W (100V-240V)
Total wattage: 300W
Input voltage:
100-127V/3A (50-60Hz)
200-240V/2A (50-60Hz)

Take a look at Dolphin Benchmark
Phenom II X6 1045T @ 3.4GHz should have the same performance as Phenom II x6 1100T @ 3.3GHz (@Xalphenos's results)
2.7-> 3.4 ~ 20% speed gain .
