Hello,

I'm fairly new to emulators and I've had a difficult time importing game saves into Dolphin. I went to GameFAQs to download a full game save for WWE WrestleMania XIX. It's a .sav file and it doesn't work. Do I need to convert it and how so? I plan to reinstall Dolphin so I can have all the files where they need to be. I'd be very appreciative if any computer geeks here could help me out! I would prefer to do it via Teamviewer or something along those lines so I could learn a thing or two about organizing so I don't get lost when trying to find something...

And yes, I've watched YouTube videos about it, but I'd like someone who knows my specs, etc. to be able to get it setup and running properly as I haven't had a PC in forever. Much love if anyone has the time to do this for me. I'd pay you but I have only $1.50 in my PayPal, lol.

I may be wrong, but aren't .sav files what dolphin uses for save states? Try loading the game and then doing Emulation->Load State-> Load State from file. See what that gets you.

GameFAQs wouldn't have savestate files.

Not sure. I know it wasn’t working because it needs to be a .gci I believe. I’m new to this so I’m just trying to find a solution so I can move on to learning the other things. What I tried first was loading the game and saving to Memory Card A. Then I went to import the .sav I downloaded. I probably messed up or maybe .sav’s are incompatible? And where should I have the downloaded save located? Which folder exactly? I’m trying to keep everything nice and neat. I reinstalled everything so I could get it right. I looked online for hours about this and can’t find a clear answer.

Are you sure you got the right save file for the right game? Also, what are you trying to do that you can't do with gecko or AR codes?

Go to tools, memory card manager. If you are using memory cards, select it and use the import menu to add your gci. If you are using gci folders, import the save into a memory card and immediately export as gci, and then move it to the correct folder.
