I was messing around in Wii Settings in the Wii menu, and a screen appeared asking me to press A to continue. It looked quite low resolution, like it was meant to be on a 4:3 resolution. Each time I pressed A, though, it would just say "Wiimote 1 disconnected by emulated software" every time. I tried using my real Wiimote and an emulated setup.
After closing that session, when I started dolphin it complained of an invalid entry 0 in SYSCONF with a number afterward. I clicked ok, and my game list loaded, but all my Wii titles were shown in Japanese, (even though their regions are US) and upon trying to launch anything, Dolphin crashes. I deleted SYSCONF, and Dolphin didn't generate a new one. I also dove into Github and downloaded a copy of the SYSCONF that used to be included with Dolphin, and that didn't work either.

I have not tested to see if Gamecube games work, since I don't play any Gamecube games. I got a couple in my list, but I've never played them.

I've attached a link to a screen recording of what happens.

Recording (apologies for the talking and stuff. I have some extra things on my computer. They've never affected Dolphin, ever. Also, the screen goes black because the GPU changes from the Intel to the Nvidia for dolphin. The videos a bit low quality but my reader thing reads the dialog fine, so yeah.)

I'm on Windows 10 x64. i7-6700HQ, GTX960M, 16GB RAM, though I don't think any of this matters.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

You may wanna download the very latest versions of Dolphin and perform a Wii Update (in the tools menu) to see if Dolphin can fix whatever you did. It looks like you may have performed a factory reset.

I will try this when I get home, however I didn't actually click factory reset.  I remember now, I don't know quite the setting but it asked if I would like to use WiiConnect24.  I clicked yes, and that's when the screen was presented.  I will reply with results tonight.

Looks like you're using 5.0, which has somewhat broken SYSCONF handling (in addition to generally bad NAND handling). I'd suggest using the latest development versions instead.

I've downloaded the latest developments build, everything seems to work now.  Also, UBERSHADERS
