My laptop specs are as follows: Core I5 2.4ghz processor, 4 gb memory, windows 7 64 bit and ati 5850 graphics card. I don't know how good these specs are to run dolphin but when I try and play Mario Cart it starts up with a few hundred fps. But then when it gets to the screen where you pick a 50cc 100 or 150cc kart the fps drops to around 14-20 and speed stays at 40% even when the race starts. Tiger woods golf also lags considerably. My settings on dolphin are just like the recommendations by the dolphin team on the website. Can anyone help me with this? Any help is appreciated.

_Battery setting : "High performance"
_Don't know about Ati but in Nvidia Control Panel , choose "High performance Nvidia Processor"
_Download the latest version 2.0 Intel Turbo Boost and Ati driver
_Check the CPU temp with "RealTemp".If it overheat (above 80C) and your pc is 1-2 years old , you should apply new thermal paste

ok I fixed it and everything works like a charm. I will post my solution so that anyone else with the same trouble can fix it.

Basically I used all the same settings as they tell you on this site but all I did was set the frame limiter to 60. Everywhere I read online stated to set it to off or auto so I did and I let it be. But so it came to be is not limiting the frames is what gives the unstable game play. I first set it at 70 but the game was a little fast then I set it at 60 and now I get a nice 45-60 fps during gaming.
