How vitally does it have to be a laptop, and are you open to other solutions as well? If you just need something to take to work/school and want to play dolphin on it, then it may pay off to get a cheap laptop/netbook off eBay now for ~£100, and then save up for a beastly desktop to get later.

I've got a really good desktop already. Well good enough for what I need. Basically I got my first credit card as I needed to new laptop and my limit is £600 so that's all I have to spend. I just want something that can Play the majority of games I said and a few wii ones. I will mainly be using it for other things. So I don't really need the gaming laptops that have been shown to me. Thank you for the offers though.
Would this be suitable? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271082045131?s...1423.l2649

Not really. The CPU is a bit weak. Besides, this is a multimedia laptop which will likely overheat.

Don't forget you won't be able to overclock. If you wanna play a lot of games at decent speed this i7 processor might not be enough

Sorry for pestering you all this is the last time I will ask for advice
These 3 have i5 processors so shouldn't overheat as much i'm guessing? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ASUS-K55VD-SX0...564d92144e http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lenovo-Z580-In...5897024649 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lenovo-G780-In...58970bbbe3

The cooling in all of those laptops will still not be good enough to prevent throttling under heavy load.

OS: Windows 7 64 bit CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K @ 4.4 GHz GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Factory OC'ed) RAM: 16 GB @ 1600 MHz Dolphin Revision:3.0, 3.0-784, 3.5, latest 3.5 10-24-2012, 06:47 AM
i5 are usually dual core cpus in laptops,so no, I would NOT recommend that.
Buy a laptop with i7 cpu, because that mean it will be quad core 10-24-2012, 06:59 AM
I understand cooling would be a problem but I wouldn't be playing for hours on end it would just be an hour here or there and I would be using an external cooler as well.
I'm so confused, I've been told not to get an i7 because of cooling issues and now I have been told not to get an i5 because its a dual core. I know dolphin uses 3 cores because of LLE (i think) would I defiantly need to use LLE? I'm not too bothered about quality 2x IR

Overhearing will mean the processor will not run as fast as it would if it were properly cooled. An external cooler won't help with that. You need a gaming laptop to run things well. admin89 suggested some good ones. Look for gaming laptops (but not Alienware).
