It's worth a try, dannzen Wink His CPU isn't very old (Intel Core 1st Gen.), it support all ICC instructions (except AVX). He should at least try it.

Quote:I know that's an old version but you know why I'm using this one ? - because it's faster with this version. I really don't know why it is so but some older versions for example r7718 or r7719 are much better than the newest versions.
Why are you worrying about speed in the first place? You should be able to run the game pretty well.
The reason why the older versions are 'faster' is because they're less accurate than the current versions.

Sry, but I have to disagree. On the newest build: 3.0-589 the minimap is worser then in r7718. I mean I don't lie, nobody pay me for laying that's the true Smile

You asked for why I'm worried because in some places like the first one the music are going to have slowdowns and that is very nerving Sad

didn't looked because he said slowdown... ;D
on my i7 it runs at 100% with stockclocks ö-Ö

(overclocked to 4ghz the PSU started to make glitchy sounds ;> stopped the overclock)
jeah but offtopic...
EDIT by neobrain: that pic was kinda annoying..

Twilight Princess uses sequenced music for the most part, and emulating that in the low-level way (with DSP LLE emulation which is quite CPU-extensive to begin with, because the DSP is a complex-to-emulate processor) will very likely result in a CPU bottleneck unless your hardware is up to the task. Not all games use the DSP to a great extent; thus, with LLE DSP emulation, some games will slowdown less often than other games, especially in parts where the audio is simple, quiet.

Sandy Bridge CPUs, along with some overclocking, often get recommended here in the case of DSP-heavy games that are run with DSP-LLE.

So when does one want to use LLE DSP emulation? Usually when one encounters a lot of issues with HLE DSP emulation (which is by the way less accurate and maybe less complete) which usually are non-existent with LLE.

Did you make sure to use the same graphic options? Mainly, copying EFB to RAM instead of Texture? And same level of accurate texture cache? Two versions shouldn't be compared with different graphic settings. (especially not a current build with a build from the texcache-rewrite branch which was last updated really long ago -- From what I saw/read, the graphics enhancements could've been nice, but it caused glitches that still remain unfixed)
Then again, I'm not sure what particular graphic settings to recommend, besides EFB to RAM which is more accurate but slower...

Too Long, Didn't Read version:
Where did you hear, or interpret, that "if twilight princess is played with DSP LLE there won't be any more slowdowns"? Because the statement doesn't seem to make sense. It's not just a matter of lost speed, it's a matter of accurate audio emulation.
I think it's supposed to be "there won't be any more music glitches" or "there won't be any more music cut-offs in cutscenes" or something like that.
My computer specs:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x86
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @2.66Ghz - 2GB of DDR2 RAM (400Mhz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512
