First of all, let me ask you how fast is your computer. Secondly, how are you going to rip the game if you don't own the console?

I know, that's why I asked how fast his computer is. Hoping that he will provide us with some more information.

honestly save some cash and buy a wii, because theres no warranty you will be able to play any of these games without some kind of problem, even if dolphin its perfect for the game and you mess up with settings or have any kind of problem in your pc... guess what? your game will crash, glitch and your kids will cry because dolphin its a work in progress.

anyway the videos you should try youtube, the settings for each game try to google name of game +settings or search name of game +settings here on forum

100% right, your son will likely not have the best experience if playing all those games exclusively on dolphin.
Although this is a very advanced emulator, it's no substitute for the real console (which is guaranteed to run all games flawless)

A big disappointment could also be the fact dolphin takes plenty of system power to run. Buying all those games and ending up not being able to play them at normal framerates would be a downer.

yeah, emulators are rather something for people who like to tinker around and see the progression...Dolphin is still far from playing games perfectly at this point, so for people who only want to play it will be very annoying (well, as you can see in many threads here *roll eyes*). Maybe in 1 or 2 years, Dolphin will be really enjoyable for most games...
Anyway, without real Wiimotes in my opinion it's just half the fun...and then you can just as well buy a Wii.
