lol triple core processors

Although, isn't the Phenom x3 better than what you have?
Arch
Intel Core i7 - 4510U

no

In all seriousness, though, I would definitely advise against AMD for Dolphin. Get the Pentium G3258 for about the same price and significantly better performance.

Indeed, i am disappointed with my FX on dolphin, but before making a purchase i am going to wait for windows 10 and directx 12, and then buy a new cpu .

I want to build a mini itx, but i want to see first how cpu's work on dx12 if they got better performance on it,especially the ones with more than 2 cores.
That why i did not bough the G3258 just for dolphin yet, i may get some i5 or i7 and give  the FX to my brother that is stuck with phenom x3 720.

For normal games you will definitely see an improvement with DX12,  however dolphin may not see those same benefits,  even if DX12 support was added.

And it runs double speed here with a 4.0ghz intel Tongue . Relative to Intel they are bad in emulation in general, the only thing that saved them in dolphin are the post dolphin 4.0 speedups which are universal.

And it runs double speed here.

Is that at 6xIR (it gets more demanding) and with a *fully complete* save file (even more demanding) ?

FYI: With the latest custom build by Tino (Ishiiruka), you should be able to get full speed even with a crappy Athlon II (overclocked to 4.3 GHz). The only thing you need is a decent GPU (at least an R9 270/X or an R9 285).

And what does 6xIR has to do with the cpu performance exactly? No it wasn't with 6xIR.

Unlike other titles, this one gets more demanding (CPU load increases as well) as the IR is increased.

If the IR from 1x - 3x shows the same speed or results and slowed down when 6x is selected then that means the GPU is the bottleneck. What gpu was this used on for the IR 6x?

So it takes a 5.0Ghz AMD processor to match what a friggin i3 can do?  LOL

Unlikely. For starters the application has to be written using d3d12 to take advantage of it so it could be years before we even start to see games that use it. Secondly the reduced cpu overhead will only effect your framerate in a significant way in PC games if you are severely cpu bottlenecked, which even AMD users are usually not. We saw this with mantle too.

Nintonito Wrote:So it takes a 5.0Ghz AMD processor to match what a friggin i3 can do?

Yup. Their cores are still missing a lot of good optimizations that Intel has put in over the years (micro-op fusion, macro-op fusion, microcode trace cache, etc.) which means they require substantially higher clock rates to match the clock rates of a modern Intel core (which is terribly inefficient).

It won't. And if it did it would effect both equally. And even if it did somehow dramatically boost performance on AMD cpus relative to Intels no amount of software optimization could ever make up for their painfully deficient hardware. We're talking about a 90% increase in IPC here going from piledriver to haswell cores. You are chasing a lost cause.
