I'm not making any promises, I'm just interested is all, since I'm familiar with the Zelda ucode and Dolphin's code for handling it. If I could help the Dolphin devs, that'd be great, but don't take it for "Shonumi will definitely fix the Zelda ucode in the future!" :p

sorry for intruding on, but as i remember, delroth before leaving dev team expressed doubt that new hle with zelda ucode would provide huge speedup due to tight timing betweem dsp and cpu , however any improvement to dsp code is good thing becouse fixing dsp will not only improve sound but also improve games emultion stabiliy and increase compitability . Every thing has price and at this case it is the requirement for stronger cpu and better cooling for higher clocks .

That's weird, AX HLE works just fine for me in Windwaker and Twilight Princess.

Those aren't AX games, they use the Zelda µcode and the Zelda µcode HLE is still shit.

Wind Waker and Twilight Princess don't use the AX ucode, they use the Zelda ucode. The Zelda ucode with HLE audio in Dolphin isn't completely broken for every Zelda ucode game. WW and TP aren't the worst offenders; a number of people have played both with HLE audio without issue. The SMG games constantly drop background music though, sound effects will continue however.

Does running DSP on a dedicated thread really cause issues? I haven't experienced any issues with it and it seems to speed things up on my 6 core i7.

It can. Some people seem to get away with it others don't. I get freezes on SMG1 with LLE on thread anytime I complete a level.

However some people have freezes in somes games while other people have no freeze in the same games. For example Xalphenos mentioned SMG1. I've never got any freeze in this game. Other people have no freeze in SMG2. I have. (05-12-2013, 01:11 PM)drhycodan Wrote: and it seems to speed things up on my 6 core i7. It may speed up games indeed. It isn't true for all games though. Let's say your 2 main cores (CPU/GPU) can do their job better since the 3rd core is dealing with sound
