Hi, it seems that all of the textures have loaded for me except for the portraits themselves. If it matters i am using DX9 on dolphin 3.0-845 HLE patched. I just wanted to know if there's a fix for this or if something's just wrong on my end? Oh i forgot to mention i am using SX4E01

Is it possible for "Load Custom Textures" to increase the chance the game will freeze or lock up?
I'm trying to troubleshoot why my XB freezes intermittently and want to rule out the texture pack usage, if possible. Thanks!

Warning guys... I've been trying to track down what has been causing slowdowns/freezes for me (using 3.5 and various 3.5 dev builds) and found that this texture pack was causing problems, namely the foliage textures.
Once I removed the grass/leaves/etc I saw an immediate improvement in general stability and performance, particular when panning the camera and running around a lot in grassy areas, which was when I was getting frequent freezes. I can't say this is 100% what the fix was, but for now I am very happy with the performance I've been getting. Anyone know why this would be? Does it load the texture from the directory for EVERY call in the game, or does it only load it once and then reuse it? If it's getting loaded EVERY time, then that could be reason for degradation.

I completely forgot about this thread because I forgot to link my account's email to my phone. If these replies are invalid because they're so late, sorry about that.

In the meantime, I am using my old 5770. I was able to run Persona 4 on the PCSX2 in 5x native resolution. Do you think my set-up can run Xenoblade Chronicles in at least 3x native resolution and 16 AF (with the HD texture pack)?You're better off asking in the hardware forums, but I'm assuming you already got your answer. I don't quite remember having this problem when I played. I remember I looked at the minimap and was able to determine which direction I was facing. So it might be because of your screen proportions. What are your screen proportions? (03-08-2013, 02:57 PM)Soyuchi Wrote: Hi, it seems that all of the textures have loaded for me except for the portraits themselves. There are the battle portraits that show up on the side during battle, the portraits that show up when you're gemcrafting and a few other places. But I think the US NTSC version has some problems related to loading textures. So you might be out of luck. I believe it has to do with the way Dolphin loads up these custom textures. A few texture-at-fault freeze ups would be missing a map preview image in the quick jump menu. However, your computer is also kind of weak so that might be the real reason since I had no noticeable performance drops from turning the textures on.

I want to say thank you for the project.
Xenoblade Chronicles look much better I have also make Video of this game in 3D. Download link for 3D Vision: https://mega.co.nz/#!3UEz0bpY!TBD76kqevN...9INaJ6ppb8 use layout: side by side, right image first and aspect ratio 16:9 And here is youtube link, if you see it with youtube, pls see it in 2D because the 3D is not good with youtube. 04-10-2013, 11:51 PM
I really thankfull for the great HD Textures, it really improves the atsmophere of playing Xenoblade
But I have problems.I played Xenoblade (using HD Textures) before and there was no problem, total fine, total great. But then I wanted to try the Alternative textures (Blue GUI and Alternate gems) and I didn`t really fancy it so I deleted all folder and extract the new fresh ones. I only added the PS3 controller button. Then problem showed up. first = the menu bar not HD textures anymore but everything are normal I tried load a save game, but the avatars/icons were original not HD But before that, I load a save game form main menu were HD Load a save game did fix it (except for maps and bag icon) only for a while, after a few minutes it went back to the original textures. I didn`t change any setting in Dolphin just delete and replace the folder, but it didn`t show up like I played before (All Glory HD Textures). It just minor problems but it really ruined my mood So, is there any way to fix this?? Thank You 04-11-2013, 01:20 AM
Hi, could someone please re-post the pack or give a working link?
It's never too late to start Xenoblade, i guess Thanks!
Hi there, first of all thanks to everyone who give efforts to this project
Btw i notice some "bugs" with hd textures too, my copy is SX4P01 version but when i set "italian" lenguage into dolphin settings a lot of textures didn't load up..basicly i can't see HD bar menu and icons, HD numbers, HD portrait at start of game, HD title "Xenoblade", HD avatars.. suppose there will be something more that for the moment i not notice yet. If I set english instead things work better but still some errors, i can't see HD numbers and HD menu bar with icons show up only if i load a save game a second time after i start the game, but as chain_smoker reported this works only for a while, after a few minutes (or after a respawn if i die into the game) it went back to origianl textures. here some comparison screens: ITA LENG ENG LENG So, is there a way to fix this? I have to rename something or set some specific settings..don't know, thanks for everyone will help 04-11-2013, 06:12 PM

@chain_smoker @Loki_
Sometimes the HD menu bar icons will load up; sometimes they won't. There are two ways to fix it: the first way would be to dump every possible texture in every possible situation and time and combination and the second way would be to fix how Dolphin loads up textures (.9.png support). If you look through the retexture pack, you'll see a lot of textures that are exact same thing. We didn't dump the textures like that on accident. The emulator requires certain filenames for the same textures depending on a lot of conditions in the game. For example, filenames for HD menu icons for Alcamoth during the night =/= filenames for HD menu icons for Alcamoth during starfall. So if the game has the filenames for Alcamoth night but not Alcamoth at stafall, the textures won't load up during Alcamoth at starfall even though they both look light night. The textures work only for a few minutes because once you go to a new area, the emulator will require the filenames for those textures for that specific area, time of day, and maybe even team composition (not 100% sure). Fixing Dolphin would be the much easier solution, in my opinion, but the devs have more important things to fix. tl;dr - Basically, as of right now, it's nearly impossible to fix. @chain_smoker If you look at your save/load menu screenshots, notice the background colors change. That means Dolphin is requiring filenames when the background is blue. @dan1114 If you enabled PM, I can send you another link. @fantasy Nice vid. Glad to see more vids with the textures.
