I believe Bighead already has them fixed for the next release, just as you did. However, I think they're going to be moved to optional files at this point no matter what.

You can delete and replace with these ones: http://www.mediafire.com/download/uuvr66zjaej44vb/Bionis+Leg+PNG.zip I fixed a bunch of random color glitches in them as well. The reason I included them as DDS in the last pack is because I wasn't sure how to properly convert them at the time. I went more in detail awhile back but I don't feel like digging it up atm. ![]() Edit: I do have the image still to see what I'm talking about though: http://i.imgur.com/GGVivOK.png Another Edit: (04-30-2014, 02:42 AM)frozenwings Wrote: I believe Bighead already has them fixed for the next release, just as you did. As much as I'd like to keep those pink bushes and such in there because they are so epic, brings a whole new atmosphere to the Bionis Leg. While it doesn't matter that they are optional, it would be sad if some missed out on the experience they bring.
Ok so before I go through and fix just a few more things and upload, is there anything wrong with any of these? There's a few changes since last time. Added junk sword and twin daggers, the gun is a lighter shade and had scope shape somewhat fixed, lighter twin blades, other stuff I really can't remember. And the armholes for Reyn's gunlance are going to be bigger. I fixed it in the icon last time but not the project file.

LOL @toothpick XD
I think they all look great. Nvm. They were fine ![]() I never noticed what the knives looked like until I checked the artwork. I make em like I see em. ![]() http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111012073659/xenoblade/images/7/78/Fiora1.png It's impossible to capture every detail (especially perfectly) in such a small pixel grid. Edit: I did make a few small changes intentionally so they wouldn't be boring to look at (like the handle for instance). 04-30-2014, 03:52 AM

Tried my hand at something that was bothering me:
Spoiler: (Show Spoiler)
May need some sprucing up, but looks better than default at least. Edit: Weapons all look fantastic, Bighead. Let me know when you're done so I can use them :p Although, I don't know what else you need to do with them. They look awesome. Also, I edited a bit from the screenshot. Although it's still not perfect. Another: Spoiler: (Show Spoiler)
Edit: remove black bar thing, needs some work.
Those are some nice improvements. It's all the little things like that, that all add up to be fantastic. And they look fine, the green arrow is perfect, although I'm not sure about the outer edge on that "Hall of Trials" backdrop. It looks like there's a thin white line around the outer edge. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be there or not. Either way, it looks good the way it is.
And here are the finished weapon icons. Spoiler: (Show Spoiler)
I was mostly fixing the shading in between them so they look consistent with one another. Since the last screenshot, Dunban's fatter sword and Sharla's rifle are now shaded better, the gunlance has bigger armholes, and w/e else I don't know anymore. And there are two versions in the pack. The "Best" folder to me look way better in game, they are slightly blurred which helps with jagged edges. I tried using a shadow but it didn't help much, blurring looks the best IMO. The "NoBlur" folder speaks for itself. Some look okay in game, others are terrible. These are the final versions I'm doing, I'm done messing with these. ![]() Edit: Doh. Had one of them named incorrectly, ended with .png.png lol... 04-30-2014, 04:44 AM
Yes, the white edge is a goner after playing with it a bit. The original texture has a very small, faint blurring out effect that I think is terrible looking so I was trying to make it look clean. I think I'm just going to make it all black and do away with the white edge. I'll update it in a bit, going to take it down for now.
Got the weapon pack ![]() They look so amazing man. I hope you're as proud of yourself as I am impressed. Really, really nice work. I'm trying to at least GET to Prison Island atm, then I'm going to redo that black texture and put your icons in. Well I never thought I'd be capable of doing anything like this so I am kind of proud. ![]() One thing I noticed about this game and glow/blur effects is that it needs to be completely transparent to look correct, no more than a level of at least 80-90% alpha that gradually fades to like 10-20%. And the first row of glow/blur has to at least match, or be lesser, than the alpha of the object. To do a glow like that border, I'd end up pixel editing it. Like start with the pure black object (or 85% to be semi-see through), zoom in, make one row of pixels 85% white, next row like 60% white, next row 45%, next row 30%, final 15%. Or two rows of each which would give it a wider glow. This is mostly how I blend ramps in the maps, and it can take a long time but it really meshes nice for the time spent. If you just wanted it have a blur effect, use the same technique only use black instead of white (or read below). The only disheartening thing is when u can get it all done, load it in game, hate it, and have to try something different. ![]() But honestly, it might be worth the effort on some things but this, it would probably look best with no glow and maybe a slight blur (maybe 2-4 pixel depth) if any at all. And since this is a solid object you can cheat and just use the Guassian Blur filter for that, but sometimes I don't like the effect it gives and do things manually. And now, I'm finally gonna finish Mechonis Core so I can start mapping it soon. Edit: Also beware that I had one of the icons named .png.png lol. I fixed it in my previous post, so if one of them didn't load that's why. |
