LOL. You're awesome. That's pretty amazing. I never would have thought to do that. That's dead on.

And 2500 textures turned into 4000 textures after I was just getting ready to be done. That brings us close to 43,000 total with everything. About to hit Prison Island in the story, but I'm going to take a break for a few hours and get some non-Xenoblade stuff taken care of :p

High Entia Tomb, I never want to see you again.

Edit:

Narcku, I'm loving your smooth monado beam with the lightning effect. Looks awesome. Is it possible to change those effects to anything, or does it have to be lightning? Also, is it possible to change the colors of the beams? I haven't had much time to mess around with it.

Even then, I feel like I may have missed some. At least no can say I didn't try. Also, I know for sure I'm missing certain stuff (gem sockets, party screen bars, story memo borders, etc.) that will require another playthrough because I didn't know about them until I was into Eryth Sea and haven't been dumping them. However, I don't think I can ever sit in high entia tomb for 6 hours again dumping my life away. Someone else can. :p

Haha not gonna disagree with that. I would honestly be amazed if anyone found anything untextured after this. I barely do now, which is unreal that you found so many new IDs.

Edit: Scratch that lol, I just ran my filter script to see how many IDs I ran into lately and found 3219 IDs in it, and I haven't been playing that much. Tongue There's even a lot of portraits in there. I must not have a very good attention span. Actually, I don't. I never even knew this game showed an arts icon on the battlefield and I've put well over 300 hours into now, not including all this modding stuff...

Well it's 43,000 with EVERYTHING. Including the 4.5U pack (or whatever hack job version Bighead sent me :p), so only like 26,000 (well I guess like 15,000 of the 4.5U files are mine too . So....) new IDs. I hope, hope, hope that some of these are used later on. Because I believe prison island is about the halfway point in the game. And sometimes my Dolphin does funky things when I load up with so many textures. Can take like 30-40 seconds to start, and sometimes is freezes up. Usually clicking the exit to prompt the "Are you sure you want to end emulation?" box, and then clicking no will usually unfreeze it though. However, once it game it works fine.

I am concerned about some upper limit though. I don't know where the textures get loaded to (probably RAM), and I'm using about 3100-3400mb of RAM with all these textures loaded. I constantly monitor my CPU, GPU, and memory usage and temps while I game, so I can see what everything is doing while I play. So if we start hitting (if the files are even directly loaded into and kept in RAM) like 5 or 6 GB of RAM usage, some people are going to have problems. I'll have to experiment more after I finish dumping to see what happens.

Edit: For someone who can't draw guns, that looks an awful lot like a gun Smile

That is a concern, I never did look at my RAM usage while playing. I just assumed the textures were loaded "on demand" and not all at once. This could be a problem for people with only like 2-4GB. I don't think the Dolphin devs ever imagined that anyone would go through the trouble to create a texture pack such as this. The multiple ID thing per texture is a bug with paletted textures if I recall correctly (can't remember where i read it but there is an issue here: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=6741 )

Part of the reason it was never fixed was because it would break current texture packs. It would be great to eventually see a fix, and only need 1 ID per texture, but then it would be almost like starting all over, all the IDs would have to be hunted over again, so many textures renamed, and all that time and effort...

Yep I'm getting today's date tattooed to my flesh somewhere with a picture of a gun so everytime I look down I know, today was the day I drew a gun and it looked like a gun. I don't care if I cheated, I'm counting it. It's getting there, lots of work left for such a small picture. Requires so much detail to look like a gun.

Yes, I've read that before. Along with a lot of other stuff on how the textures work with dolphin.

I think in the long run, it would be better. It would probably only take a day to find all of the textures again that we're using. 90% of them you could just load into anywhere in the game and bring up the various menus and you have all of the IDs just like that. But yeah, other games textures packs not working is obviously a concern.

In regards into the files loading all at once, I have no idea. All I know is that how long my dolphin takes to load the game is directly related to how many textures I have in my load folder and it gets more... interesting the more I get.

The gun looks amazing. I can't wait. Is that the last weapon already? My brain is fried. I think there's at least another one though.

The last main weapon, but there's 2 more. Shulks first sword and Fiora's first daggers. And here it is. It's far from perfect, but honestly I probably can't do better. It's nothing short of a miracle it came out this good.

I think that's freaking amazing, dude. Wow. From "not being able to draw guns" to that... yeah. I think you made some good progress today.

Oh yeah, back to the good ol' swords, lol. (i.e. not guns)
