Haha, I think what you're describing as a bad pixel is what I see as how the tip is :p

If you even look at his artwork, his sword (katana) has the "flat tip." If you google katanas and compare, you can see what I'm talking about. The game artists sort of exaggerated the tip, to try and show it as katana to the best of their abilities. Your 2nd icon in the attachment is a much closer representation of how the tip should be. My little doodle sort of highlights the "caricatureness" of their icon.

I don't know, your icon still looks way better than the original.

Last version, I think I got it 100% right this time, fixed it a bit and also shaded it. The last icon was just to make sure I was on the right track.

Okay, got the new version. Also sometimes I wonder if I'm loading totally new sets of IDs from my last two runs. Then I run into this and know that I'm still loading my old retextures:

Good ol three skill trees dump, before I unlocked all 5.

Edit: It also tells me that the gem trick IDs must be used at other points in the game, because I didn't figure it out til this run. Which more or less confirms that it pulls IDs from other points in the game, and isn't it's own pool like I had originally thought. Which is awesome, because I've found a ton of new IDs doing it.

That's great news. At least it's not an endless like pool of randomly generated IDs like you originally thought it could be. Some not so great news is I can't draw guns, like at all. There's two things in this world I can't draw: and that's guns and 90% of the animal kingdom... I'm trying to capture the perspective from Sharla's gun icon but it's probably not going to happen. I've been looking at 100s of pictures of rifles but I can't find a single one from an overhead perspective like that. At least if I can find one of those, I could cheat and traces it, but meh... I may have to do it from a different perspective.

Yeah, I knew the gun would be the most difficult. I tried retexturing it before when I was doing Reyn's shield, and we all saw how that turned out. :p So yeah, don't look at me,

Even if you could draw guns, like you said - it has a really difficult perspective. I hope you can come up with something, and we'll just sneak it in. Since I think one icon not matching 100% with the original artwork would look better than just one weapon not textured on the weapon screen.

I can probably draw one with the correct angle, but not with that perspective. Any screenshot I find that comes close is always at this angle: http://www.popularairsoft.com/files/images/98k-scoped-008.jpg

I think that would be fine, man. It's pretty close. It would be pretty nitpicky to turn down an HD icon just because of a slight angle issue. If you can draw something close to that, I say go for it.

On the brightside, I'm almost done with High Entia Tomb after being suck in here all day. I've dumped close to 2,500 textures in here, it was insane. I hope some of them are used later.

Also not having Melia sucks, because Melia+Riki (both using non-repeating tension IDs) are the best for crafting so I can unlock the other characters tension textures while gem crafting. Right now, without her, I'm having to craft two times per ID set. I'm afraid that if I get Melia back and return, I might lose some of these IDs. So yeah, I have to get them all right now.

Also, the good thing about not having Melia is that at least I won't have to backtrack for her portraits since she only uses one :p

I'm persistent. After looking at enough pictures of guns that I wanted to point one at my head, I gave up. Luckily I get these random strokes of genius and came up with this:

Doing the maps taught me a lot about the limitations of the camera. Just had to get to a moment where someone in the party was about to bite it, warn sharla, adjust the camera just right, and most of her disappears but the weapon remains. Finally, something to work with.
